How to Manage a Seizure
If your dog has seizure, what should you do?
In this webinar, Dr. Jeff shows you how to manage a seizuring dog or cat. The first thing is to protect yourself. Stay away from the biting teeth. Dogs never swallow their tongues so don't worry about that.
Next, protect the pet - get him away from furniture and stairs. Pull him by the leg or tail to keep you safe.
Then, turn the lights and sound down. We want less stimulation, not more.
Also, you can apply ice packs to the back and get the dog into a sternal position to prevent the next seizure.
Dr. Jeff also goes into when you need to get to the hospital.
